Wii Balance Boards
Wii Sports and Wii Fitness programs work your body with the Nintendo Wii System and the pressure-sensitive Wii Balance Board. The focus is providing a “core” workout, a popular exercise method that stresses strengthening your torso; it’s a fun approach to Wii Fit that will keep players hooked on Wii Fit for years to come. Players have engaging and surprisingly challenging activities using Wii Exercise, like balance oriented games, muscle stretches, aerobics, and yoga.
The Wii Fit Balance Board
Wii Fit uses balance. You will learn a lot about the importance of balance. People without an even center of balance compensate for this imbalance, which causes their posture to become “un” balanced. The Wii Balance Board can hold weights up to 300 pounds. It can figure weight and pressure on flat surfaces. The board can recognize users by their weight plus recognize the different games and activities.

Your WiiProfile
Before you jump into Wii games, start by creating a profile. This is done easily by selecting a Mii (avatar), entering your height, weight and age, and doing a few tests that will be your baseline for your new Wii fitness regimen. These tests include:
* Body Mass Index (BMI), a measure of body fat based on height and weight; a standard used by the National Institute of Health and the World Health Organization. To get your BMI, enter your height, then stand on the Wii Balance Board and let it read your weight.
* Wii Fit Age: After you check your BMI, do a basic balance test and find out your current Wii Fit Age. This basic balance test measures how well you can control your left and right balance; after the results you will be given your “Wii Fit Age”.
